Overview

Job Summary Provide administrative direction to the Diagnostic, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology and Mammography departments. Performance: Position Specific Essential Functions Establishes work schedules to ensure adequate staffing for the department; Helps establish and implement policies and procedures for the department operation; Helps select, train, orient new personnel to the department; Resolves staff grievances as needed; Maintains departmental personnel records; Maintains supply levels at appropriate par levels and within budget. Closes all orders upon completing of procedure to ensure proper reporting and billing; Ensures patient comfort and privacy during their examination; Provides patient with information on how the results of the imaging study will be related; Verifies patient prior to beginning procedure; Ensures all required images are captured and sent for interpretation; Ensures proper diagnosis for procedure is selected and entered into billing/reporting systems. Verifies correct patient by verifying name and DOB, reviews orders for accurate procedure and diagnosis codes. Ability to adjust to a varying workload; assume assignments in a positive manner; attend required meetings and in-services; maintain department competencies and certifications; initiative in expanding knowledge of new procedures. Understands that attendance affects team morale and confidence. Demonstrates reliability and punctuality regarding attendance. Consistently is present and ready to begin work activities at start of shift, stays within established break periods, arrives on time for meetings and leaves work area promptly at the conclusion of the shift to reduce potential distractions. Schedules personal appointments or requests adjustment to schedule with least amount of disruption to service delivery. Provides prompt notice for unexpected absences. Works collaboratively with all team members to include staff, physicians, ancillary departments, and patient/families. Demonstrates a positive attitude and good communication. Qualifications Education Required High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent Graduate from an approved School of Radiologic Technology Experience: Required Five years of experience in Diagnostic Radiology Three years of experience as a Supervisor Certification/Licensure: Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date Medical Radiologic Technology (MRT) License from the State of Texas The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification in Radiography R.T.(R)
