Overview

The Assistant Club Manager at Planet Fitness will play a key role in overseeing gym operations, ensuring a superior member experience, and contributing to the financial success of the club. This role involves managing staff recruitment, training, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all members and guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Assist in recruiting, hiring, training and developing high-performing staff
  • Maintain a welcoming atmosphere for members and guests
  • Provide backup support to the Club Manager as needed
  • Schedule and supervise staff
  • Ensure superior customer experience at all times
  • Resolve or escalate employee issues or concerns
  • Handle front desk activities including phone calls and member check-ins
  • Facilitate member requests, issues, and questions
  • Oversee cleanliness and maintenance of the facility
  • Order supplies based on specific club budget
  • Track statistics and reports regularly
  • Provide backup support for absent employees

Required skills

  • Superior customer service skills, preferably in the fitness industry
  • Experience as a Member Service Representative at Planet Fitness
  • Solid supervisory and listening skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite and Apple)
  • Strong problem resolution skills
  • Current CPR Certification preferred
  • Tanning Operator Certification preferred
  • High school diploma/GED equivalent required
  • Must be 18 years or older
