Overview

Capital One is seeking an Applied Researcher II to join their AI Foundations team, where you will contribute to developing trustworthy AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to build AI-powered products and engaging in high-impact applied research to innovate how Capital One serves its customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with a cross-functional team to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface.
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases of development.
  • Conduct high-impact applied research to advance AI applications.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into business goals.

Required skills

  • PhD in relevant fields or equivalent experience in Applied Research.
  • Hands-on experience with AI foundation models and open-source tools.
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and machine learning techniques.
  • Experience building large deep learning models and solutions.
  • Knowledge of training optimization and model guidance.
  • Ability to autonomously carry out long-running research projects.
