Overview

As an Applied Researcher II (AI Foundations) at Capital One, you'll be at the forefront of transforming banking through innovative AI solutions. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop AI-powered products that enhance customer interactions, leveraging state-of-the-art technologies in machine learning and data science.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Leverage technologies like Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface to analyze large data sets.
  • Develop AI foundation models from design through to implementation.
  • Conduct high-impact applied research to enhance customer experiences with AI.
  • Translate complex AI concepts into tangible business goals.

Required skills

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, AI, Mathematics, or related fields or M.S. with
  • Hands-on experience with AI foundation models and cloud computing platforms.
  • Knowledge of machine learning methodologies and experience in training deep learning models.
  • Experience with optimization techniques for large models and open-source tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
