Overview

As an Applied Researcher II at Capital One, you will contribute to creating advanced AI systems that transform banking experiences. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products while leveraging cutting-edge technologies and conducting impactful applied research to enhance customer interactions with financial services.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to develop AI-powered products.
  • Leverage technologies like Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface to analyze large data sets.
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases of development.
  • Engage in applied research to innovate customer experiences using AI.
  • Translate complex technical work into tangible business outcomes.

Required skills

  • PhD or MS in relevant fields (e.g., Computer Science, AI, Mathematics) with practical experience in Applied Research.
  • Hands-on experience with AI foundation model development and solutions.
  • Expertise in large deep learning models and training optimization.
  • Familiarity with machine learning methodologies and cloud computing platforms.
  • Ability to autonomously manage research agendas.
