Overview

As an Applied Researcher II at Capital One, you will contribute to the development of trustworthy AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. You will collaborate with a diverse team to build AI-powered products and engage in high-impact applied research, leveraging advanced technologies to uncover insights from vast datasets.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Leverage technologies such as Pytorch, AWS, and VectorDBs for data analysis.
  • Build AI foundation models through all phases of development.
  • Engage in applied research to innovate customer experiences.
  • Translate complex research work into actionable business goals.

Required skills

  • PhD in relevant fields such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics, or M.S. plus experience
  • Hands-on experience with AI foundation models and solutions
  • Deep understanding of AI methodologies and machine learning techniques
  • Experience with large deep learning models and optimization techniques
  • Expertise in programming with open-source languages
  • Knowledge of data quality, dataset curation, and tokenization
