Overview

As an Applied Researcher I (AI Foundations) at Capital One, you will contribute to developing AI systems that enhance customer experiences in banking. You'll collaborate with a cross-functional team to leverage advanced AI technologies and methodologies to create innovative solutions that simplify how customers manage their finances.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with data scientists, software engineers, machine learning engineers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
  • Utilize technologies like Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, and Huggingface to process large datasets.
  • Build AI foundation models through all development phases, including design, training, validation, and implementation.
  • Conduct high-impact applied research to advance AI applications in customer experiences.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts to achieve business objectives.

Required skills

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI, Mathematics, or related fields (or an M.S. with 2
  • Hands-on experience with developing AI foundation models and solutions using Pytorch and cloud computing
  • Knowledge of training optimization, self-supervised learning, robustness, explainability, and RLHF
  • Experience delivering high-quality research and solutions in machine learning
  • Familiarity with open-source technologies and deep learning algorithms
