Job Description

Overview

As an Applications Engineer II at Medical Manufacturing Technologies LLC, you will provide technical expertise in supporting advanced catheter manufacturing processes for life-saving medical devices. This role involves problem-solving, collaborating with customers, and working in a hands-on environment to develop innovative manufacturing solutions.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to understand manufacturing challenges and recommend solutions
  • Conduct proof-of-concept testing and process development in the Applications Lab
  • Develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes for medical device applications
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Program, test, and validate equipment prior to customer acceptance
  • Prepare technical reports and present recommendations
  • Collaborate with Engineering and R&D teams to enhance capabilities
  • Train customers and internal teams on equipment operation and best practices
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or related discipline
  • 3+ years of experience in applications engineering or related technical role
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication of technical information to various audiences
  • Experience reading engineering drawings and technical documentation
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 10-20%
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing and catheter processes
  • Knowledge of process validation and statistical methods
  • Familiarity with CAD software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks
  • Understanding of ISO 13485 and FDA Quality System Regulations
  • Knowledge of polymers used in catheter applications
