Job Description

Overview

The University of Illinois Foundation is seeking an Investment Analyst for its Investment Office in Chicago. This role involves supporting the management of a multibillion-dollar endowment, working closely with senior team members to evaluate investments, prepare materials, and maintain portfolio analytics.

Key responsibilities

  • Support senior team members in managing the endowment
  • Prepare written and analytic materials for investment recommendations
  • Research and analyze existing and prospective investment opportunities
  • Monitor and update investment performance reports
  • Assist in preparing materials for Investment Policy Committee meetings
  • Maintain database integrity for portfolio analysis
  • Engage in discussions about asset allocation and risk management
  • Stay current on capital markets and financial news
  • Travel to manager meetings as needed
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as assigned

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree with strong academic achievement
  • Interest in finance, investing, and capital markets
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated interest in researching and investing in equities
  • Progress towards CFA designation is a plus
  • Proficiency with Python or comparable statistical program is a plus
