Overview

The Senior Director, DMPK & Modeling Lead at Takeda Pharmaceutical will play a crucial role in establishing the quantitative foundations that drive portfolio decisions in AI-powered drug discovery. This position focuses on integrating DMPK and modeling expertise to support rapid and confident decision-making from target hypothesis to clinical application within the AIRx initiative. The successful candidate will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment aimed at delivering high-quality medicines efficiently.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the DMPK, PK/PD, and modeling strategy across the AIRx portfolio.
  • Ensure robust human PK and dose projections for all programs.
  • Drive model-informed decision making (MIDD) for target and candidate progression.
  • Embed DMPK & modeling into AI enabled DMTA cycles.
  • Design and oversee CRO-based DMPK and modeling activities.
  • Ensure adherence to scientific integrity and mechanistic depth in program decisions.
  • Represent DMPK perspectives at governance forums and contribute to IND-enabling packages.

Required skills

  • PhD degree in a relevant scientific discipline
  • 12-15+ years of industry experience in pharmaceutical DMPK and modeling
  • Proven contributions to IND filings and DMPK packages
  • Experience managing externalized CRO DMPK programs
  • AI/ML data integration experience with large multi-source datasets
  • Strong expertise in ADME, PK, and PK/PD modeling
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills
