If you thrive on connecting with people, organizing dynamic outreach efforts, and helping others achieve their goals, this is an opportunity to make a lasting difference.Salary: $68,724 The Admissions and Outreach Specialist under the general direction of the Assistant Director of Student Diversity, Outreach and Retention the Admissions & Outreach Specialist will serve as a generalist for the department with an emphasis on supporting admissions, transcript evaluation, outreach and recruitment efforts. Communicates and meets with prospective and enrolled students to answer questions and provide information on admission requirements, academic programs, and general expectationsMaintains contact with prospective students to inform them of application status and to communicate deadlines for submitting any additional documentsTracks student participation from application to enrollment by using college data tracking systemsProvides specific information to prospective and enrolled students on selective admissions academic programs requiring specific prerequisites, test scores, and/or other requirements (i.e. Nursing, Dental Hygiene, Radiologic Technology, etc.)Upon request, provides review of student applications materials prior to application deadline to promote complete applicationsConducts thorough and timely audit of selective admissions applications and supporting documents for specific programs to ensure proper completion and submission in compliance with program enrollment requirementsAssists with receipt and evaluation of transcripts, test score reports and other educational recordsWorks closely with high school counselors and community partners to promote a pathway to higher education, delivers information specific to BTC, and collaborates to guide students through admission stepsDevelops, coordinates and delivers in-person and virtual recruitment and outreach programs including information sessions, campus tours, and related recruitment effortsDirects the work of Student Ambassadors to participate in recruitment activitiesEngage in learning about issues that impact access to and persistence in higher education of students from underrepresented populationsAssesses effectiveness of recruitment tools and eventsAttend meetings on and off campus, as scheduled Travel for outreach and recruitment activitiesPerform duties as assigned Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent customer service skills for internal users and collaboration with external partnersProficient in writing documentation, either independently or using collaborative toolsKnowledge of marketing and recruitment techniquesExcellent customer services, coaching, communication and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and with minimal supervisionAccuracy in information delivery; maintain confidential informationDetailed oriented; gather and analyze informationWork alongside individuals of varied ethnicity, ages, backgrounds, and abilities in an inclusive and participatory mannerFacilitate and conduct workshops, seminars and presentations; Work with various software packages including Microsoft Office 365 and database managementAbility to work under pressure and prioritize competing demands; Adapt readily to new challenges, processes and job responsibilitiesPossess strong analytic and problem-solving capabilitiesDisplay integrity and act with discretion by accessing individual or institutional information for a stated business purposeWork independently and on a flexible scheduleExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
