Ensures all operations comply with property's policesand procedures. Responsible for planning department goals and directing teammembers to achieve results. Provides guidance and direction to ensure overalldepartmental success. Participates in the hiring process by interviewing potential team members andselecting those that best meet staffing needs. Participates in managementtraining. Follows all Human Resources policies. Ensures staff receives anyrequired training or attends mandatory meetings. Monitors and develops team member performance to include, but not limited to,providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling and evaluations anddelivering recognition and reward. Monitors and assesses service and satisfaction trends, evaluates and addressesissues and makes improvements accordingly. Manages inventory of goods and materials, Prepares loss and damage reportsfor these items. Ensures security of inventory. Ensures storerooms are set upproperly, kept clean and appropriately stocked. Maintains proper storage androtation to eliminate loss of product due to spoilage. Resolves vendor issues. Uses corporate approved/negotiated vendors (i.e. Avendra vendors) to obtain allgoods required to operate the hotel, always striving for the best quality at thelowest price. Researches new goods and/or services as needed. Obtains bidsand authorizations as outlined in department policies. Utilizes hotel's computer systems (i.e. Birchstreet) to place orders and finalize alltransactions. Maintains purchasing log of items received and providesinformation to Accounts Payable. Runs and analyzes various reports to monitorinventories, costs, budget, and use. Uses property's systems to set up andmaintain order sheets, set up specifications for all items purchased and chargedepartments for items purchased. Keeps immediate supervisor promptly and fully informed of any problems,potential safety issues, or unusual situations so prompt corrective action may betaken. Communicates with other departments to fulfill needs. May be required to wear non-slip, oil resistant shoes. Follows all safety policiesand procedures. Reports potential safety issues to manager whenever observedand takes immediate action to resolve in emergency situations. OSHA lawsrequire the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing workduties that have the potential of risk to your health or safety. Team members willbe trained in the proper use and care of assigned PPE if applicable. The hotelprovides the required PPE. Team member has responsibility to report defective,damaged or lost PPE or equipment that does not fit properly to their Manager.Maintains strict compliance with hotel's Hazardous Material (HAZMAT) programand familiarizes self with current MSDS. Reporting to work as scheduled (on time and on regular basis) is an essentialfunction of the job.
