Overview

The Accounting Manager for the Bank Reconciliation Team at Pacific Life is responsible for overseeing enterprise-wide bank reconciliation and transactional matching processes. This leadership role involves managing a team of accounting professionals to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial data in accordance with accounting policies and operational standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team responsible for bank reconciliations and transactional matching processes.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation activities.
  • Own the end-to-end book-to-bank reconciliation process and enforce governance and standardization.
  • Drive process development and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency.
  • Collaborate with various accounting teams and cross-functional stakeholders to resolve discrepancies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and talent development for team members.
  • Deliver reporting and insights to senior leadership, including KPIs and operational performance metrics.

Required skills

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 8+ years of accounting or financial operations experience.
  • Experience managing and developing teams.
  • Knowledge of general ledger and bank reconciliation processes.
  • Experience with enterprise reconciliation tools (e.g., ARCS) and ERP systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior leadership.
