Overview

The University of Utah is seeking a qualified Accounting Manager to oversee one or more accounting teams, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. This role involves managing the preparation of financial reports, advising on budget matters, and supervising staff and performance evaluations.

Key responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise accounting teams including supervisors and staff
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and university policies
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports
  • Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory filings
  • Coordinate audit activities
  • Advise leadership on budgeting and monitor financial performance
  • Analyze financial results and deliver reports to executive leadership
  • Maintain internal controls and drive process improvements
