Job Description

Overview

The Zipline Operator at Icy Strait Point is responsible for ensuring the safety and preparation of guests participating in the world's largest Zip Rider, which features a thrilling ride from a height of 1,400 feet. The role is seasonal, primarily from April to September, and requires a strong commitment to safety and excellent customer service skills as operators interact directly with guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Securely strap guests into and out of harness seats for the Zip Rider
  • Conduct safety checks at the top tower
  • Return and retrieve harnesses between the top and bottom towers
  • Educate guests about Icy Strait Point's offerings, including history and local attractions
  • Participate in training and safety meetings
  • Maintain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Required skills

  • Willingness to learn about Tlingit culture
  • Knowledge of the local area including marine life and wildlife
  • Ability to lead groups of various ages
  • Physical capability to lift 40 pounds and perform moderate physical activities
