Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSUMMARY:The Prevention Specialist is responsible for delivering curriculum-based life skills in a school-based setting. To provide youth prevention services that promote a proactive process to address health and wellness for youth, families, and communities by enhancing protective factors that increase knowledge, skills, and attitudes for making healthy choices. These services promote a proactive process to address adverse childhood experiences, social determinants of health, and/or other youth, family, and community risk and protective factors. Services address the State's four prevention priorities: underage alcohol use, tobacco and nicotine products use, marijuana and other cannabinoids use, and prescription drug misuse.EDUCATION:Bachelor's degree in a social service-related field.EXPERIENCE:Strong communication skills - verbal and written.Excellent organizational skills with the ability to maintain composure and handle pressure.Experience in a community-based, youth-oriented organization.Experience in Microsoft Windows, Word, and Excel.COMPENSATION:Salary: 35,000- 45,000 Based on experience.Full benefits upon successful completion of the probationary period.
