Overview

Whetstone Academy is seeking a passionate Youth Mentor for a part-time position over the weekend. This role involves providing guidance, support, and encouragement to students in a dynamic learning environment focused on their behavioral, academic, social, and emotional growth.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one and group mentoring to students
  • Offer academic support, study skills assistance, and time management strategies
  • Guide students in developing social skills, emotional intelligence, and conflict resolution abilities
  • Help students set and achieve personal goals
  • Establish strong, trusting relationships with students
  • Create a safe and supportive environment for students
  • Act as a positive role model and advocate for students
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of enrichment activities
  • Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to school staff
  • Document student interactions and progress
