Job Description: Position Summary The Director of Youth Ministries supports the mission of Stonewater Fellowship by creating missional communities within the context of local students in grades 6-12. The Director serves as an innovative, engaging spiritual leader and role model with strong biblical background who, with significant knowledge and understanding of current youth culture, is responsible for designing, coordinating and overseeing a missional student community culture focused on reaching and building young disciples for Christ. Areas of focus include connecting with youth within the community, group building, worship, discipleship, mission, and outreach. This is a part-time (20-hour/week) paid ministry staff position. The Director serves as part of the Stonewater staff leadership team, reporting to the Lead Pastor and Executive Director. Leadership Development - Equipping students, volunteers and leaders includes key student, parent and volunteer care, recruiting, team building and training, supervision and vision casting. Partner with Stonewater staff, leadership and local area Young Life to cast vision for youth missional communities. Develop and maintain consistent gatherings with volunteers and team leaders to build and sustain unity and provide vision and direction that is closely aligned with Stonewater's overall mission and vision. Recruit new students, student leaders, volunteers and adult leaders to build a team or teams that reflect the community. Train, supervise, develop, support, and evaluate volunteers and team leaders, providing resources and experiences needed to implement the vision. Create and implement a leadership pipeline plan for students, volunteers and team leaders. Train team volunteers and leaders in how to work effectively in teams and develop a personal discipleship plan that includes a yearly ministry plan. Direct Ministry - Direct ministry responsibilities include Actively engage with youth, volunteers and parents or guardians. Build contact ministry with students who are not following Jesus and engage in relationship with them. Create weekly events that engage students who are outside the context of Stonewater and connect non-believing students with believing students for the purpose of relationally sharing the gospel with them. Create time and spaces of connections with participating students to connect with student ministry adult leaders in mentoring time.
