Overview

Whetstone Academy is seeking Youth Adventure Staff to guide students on safe, quality trips that enhance cultural awareness and personal enrichment. Staff will be responsible for supervising students in a nurturing environment and facilitating various outdoor activities, supported by a team and management.

Key responsibilities

  • Guide students on local day outings and overnight camping trips
  • Provide a nurturing environment and close supervision of students
  • Utilize natural and logical consequences to hold students accountable
  • Employ effective relationship and counseling skills
  • Complete all necessary student documentation
  • Attend, participate, and complete all mandatory training

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with youth
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work doubles during the day and overnight on weekends
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
