Job Description

Overview

The Young Adult Housing Program Manager at Cocoon House oversees the Journeys Program, which provides supportive housing for unhoused individuals aged 18-24. This role involves supervising staff, managing community partnerships, and ensuring compliance with fair housing laws while fostering a supportive community environment for tenants.

Key responsibilities

  • Supervise and train program staff, providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Coordinate with the Property Manager to utilize all housing units effectively.
  • Facilitate life skills classes and community events to build a positive culture.
  • Manage incident reporting and ensure compliance with data collection requirements.
  • Develop partnerships for mental health, education, and employment services.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and respond to community needs.
  • Maintain tenant confidentiality and perform light cleaning duties.

Required skills

  • 2+ years of experience supervising a team
  • 3+ years of experience working with youth or young adults in trauma-informed settings
  • Ability to de-escalate stressful situations and communicate effectively
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing laws
  • Experience in data tracking and input
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driver's abstract
