The Yard Driver Non DOT at Xpedient Logistics in Auburn, Georgia, plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of trailers within the distribution yard. The position is integral to supporting warehouse and transportation operations, focusing on maintaining yard organization and facilitating the timely flow of freight in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Safely operate a yard tractor to move trailers to and from dock doors
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety issues
  • Maintain accurate records of trailer locations using yard management systems
  • Coordinate with warehouse, dispatch, and transportation teams
  • Ensure trailers are properly secured
  • Monitor yard conditions to ensure a safe, clean, and organized environment
  • Verify trailer numbers, seal integrity, and load status as required
  • Assist with basic yard audits and inventory tracking
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, OSHA guidelines, and DOT regulations
  • Respond to changing operational needs during peak periods

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous yard driver, CDL, or commercial driving experience preferred
