Overview

Sevita, through its REM Community Services division, is seeking a compassionate individual to join their team as a Direct Support Professional in Beckley, West Virginia. This role involves providing essential support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, ensuring they lead fulfilling lives and receive the assistance they need in various daily activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide direct support as per individual service/program plans
  • Assist with personal care, recreational activities, and daily living tasks
  • Document progress and maintain confidentiality of records
  • Report any instances of alleged abuse or neglect
  • Administer or support self-administration of medications
  • Monitor individual health and assist with medical appointments
  • Prepare meals according to individual dietary needs
  • Comply with safety policies and maintain a safe environment

Required skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Six months of experience in human services preferred
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Knowledge of computers
