The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Workday Payroll, payroll accounting, SOX compliance, payroll tax, and multi-state payroll processing while partnering with HR, Finance, Legal, and IT teams.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess end-to-end payroll for 1,500+ employees using Workday PayrollHandle equity transactions and payroll tax withholdingManage payroll accounting, journal entries, reconciliations, and month/year-end closeEnsure compliance with federal, state, and multi-state payroll tax regulations and SOX controlsProcess W-2/W-2c and support payroll auditsPartner with HR, IT, and Finance on Workday enhancements and payroll operationsManage payroll inquiries, time & attendance, garnishments, and compliance activitiesDrive payroll process improvements and leverage AI tools (Claude, Gemini, etc.) for automation and reportingRequired Skills8+ years of end-to-end payroll experienceStrong hands-on experience with Workday Payroll (Mandatory)Payroll accounting and General Ledger reconciliationSOX controls and multi-state payroll tax complianceYear-end payroll processing (W-2/W-2c) using Workday and ADP SmartComplianceAdvanced Excel/Google Sheets skillsExcellent communication and problem-solving abilitiesPreferred SkillsExperience leading or managing a payroll teamStrong payroll automation and process improvement experienceExposure to AI tools for payroll operationsImportant NotesNo extended time off can be approved through March 2027Hybrid schedule through September (3 days onsite), transitioning to fully remote thereafterTop Must-HavesHands-on Workday Payroll experience (Mandatory)8+ years of payroll experience in WorkdayPayroll accounting, SOX controls, and multi-state payroll expertise
