Job Description

Overview

Calgon Carbon Corporation is seeking a Welder II for their Equipment & Assembly Plant in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role involves performing various welding processes, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with quality standards in the fabrication of piping systems and structural components.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform tack welding and finish welding of piping systems using SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, and GMAW processes
  • Maintain a clean and safe shop environment
  • Inspect own work for compliance with drawings and weld procedures
  • Assist with incoming parts inspection and final product inspection
  • Complete ASME code weld log documentation daily
  • Operate forklifts, jib cranes, and overhead cranes

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED required, Associates degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of welding experience
  • Certification to CCC procedures required
  • Prior ASME welding certificates required
  • Experience with SMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW, and GMAW welding processes
  • Ability to pass non-destructive testing of pressure retaining welds
  • Material handling and movement skills
