Overview

Metalcraft of Mayville is seeking Welders for its Beaver Dam facility, where the primary responsibility is to operate weld machines and fabricate metal parts to specifications. The role operates on a production basis with requirements for various welding techniques and adherence to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow WPS weld standards
  • Inspect and measure machined work pieces for specification conformity
  • Adjust machine controls for proper operation
  • Unload welded parts from robotic welder
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt components
  • Perform MIG, TIG, and aluminum welding techniques
  • Examine finished work pieces against quality control standards
  • Perform prescribed preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations

Required skills

  • Experience in manual and robotic welding
  • Completion of an internal welding test
  • Knowledge of welding setup parameters (amps, volts)
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols
  • Basic computer skills related to job functions
  • Competent in dimensional measuring
  • Basic shop math skills
  • Experience with overhead crane operation desired
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
