Overview

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Welder to join their team in Kittery, Maine. With a strong background in heavy civil construction, the company focuses on safely building and reconstructing infrastructure projects. The Welder will perform welding tasks under general supervision while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and project specifications.

Key responsibilities

  • Comply with and promote all safety policies and procedures
  • Weld structural members with consistent quality according to layouts and blueprints
  • Identify and prepare materials used in structural welding
  • Handle various types of welding tools, wire, and machines
  • Troubleshoot issues by understanding blueprints and taking corrective actions
  • Perform initial QA/QC checks on finished work
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop and manage stock levels

Required skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural welding
  • Proficient in using cutting torch, plasma arc, and cutting machines
  • Experience working off lifts or staging
  • Prior rigging experience
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work as a team player
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
