Overview

The Middlesex Corporation, a leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a Welder to join their team in Kittery, Maine. The role involves performing welding projects under general supervision while adhering to safety policies and ensuring high-quality work in building and reconstructing infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Comply with all Safety policies and procedures
  • Weld structural members following layouts, blueprints, and work orders
  • Identify types and preparation of materials used in structural welding
  • Use various types of welding tools, wire, and machines
  • Troubleshoot issues by understanding blueprints and taking corrective actions
  • Perform initial QA/QC checks on finished work
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop
  • Manage stock and re-order levels

Required skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in structural welding
  • Proficient in cutting torch, plasma arc, and cutting machines
  • Experience working off lifts or staging
  • Prior rigging experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism
