Job Description

Overview

Wegmans is seeking a Security Officer to join their team in Ithaca, NY. This part-time role focuses on maintaining a safe environment for customers and employees through visible presence, patrolling, and addressing safety concerns.

Key responsibilities

  • Maintain high visibility near the front entrance and survey outside parking areas
  • Escort employees and/or customers as requested
  • Intervene and effectively diffuse customer conflicts
  • Inspect perimeter doors, windows, and gates to ensure high levels of security
  • Monitor store environment to deter undesirable activity

Required skills

  • 1+ years full-time experience as a sworn police officer
  • Valid license to carry a firearm
  • Valid driver's license
  • Conflict management
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Sound judgement skills
  • Ability to maintain composure under pressure
