Overview

The Weather Forecaster/Observer at RedTown Technical Services, LLC is responsible for performing meteorological weather watch duties, including taking and disseminating surface weather observations, issuing forecasts, and monitoring radar and satellite imagery. The role requires specific certifications and experience in aviation forecasting and weather observation within military or government contexts.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform meteorological weather watch duties
  • Take, evaluate, record, and disseminate surface weather observations
  • Issue Terminal Aerodrome Forecasts and weather advisories
  • Monitor radar and satellite imagery
  • Provide DD-175-1 briefings and disseminate PIREPs

Required skills

  • 2 years of aviation forecast experience
  • Prior observation certification with DoD, FAA, or NWS
  • Experience using METAR code for surface weather observations
  • DoD formal training program completion for weather observing and forecasting
  • Ability to operate meteorological and communications equipment

What the company offers

  • $45.65 per hour Forecaster rate and $37.35 per hour Observer rate
  • $6.75 per hour for Health & Welfare for up to 40 hours
  • Night and Sunday differential pay
