Job Description

Overview

The Weather Forecaster II at RedTown Technical Services, LLC is responsible for all aspects of operational weather forecasting for the MQ-4C Triton Mission. This role includes pre-mission planning, flight weather briefings, and real-time updates, ensuring pilots are well-informed about weather conditions affecting their operations at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, WA.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide pre-mission planning briefs for VUP MQ-4C Triton orbits
  • Deliver aviation DD-175-1 Flight Weather Briefings to VUP pilots
  • Conduct Air Vehicle Operator turnover briefings
  • Provide real-time updates to forecasts based on changing conditions
  • Perform administrative tasks such as training, quality control, and outage reporting

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in meteorology or related field or two years of aviation forecasting experience
  • Experience with flight weather briefings and unmanned systems
  • Ability to gain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
  • Visual acuity correctable to 20/20
  • Proficiency in operating meteorological and communications equipment
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • English language proficiency
