Overview

The Water/Wastewater Consultant at Communities Unlimited, Inc. provides onsite technical assistance and training to rural community infrastructure systems facing water or waste disposal challenges. This role involves project planning, financing, and utility management, with the opportunity to work remotely for candidates residing in the Woodward, OK area.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide onsite technical assistance to 15-20 rural communities and small water/wastewater systems.
  • Develop, prepare, and submit reports, project documentation, and technical analyses.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local, state, and federal stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, grant/contract requirements, and reporting standards.
  • Manage multiple priorities and contribute to communications and branding efforts.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, social sciences, management, public administration, or related field prefer
  • Current Water or Wastewater Operator Certification
  • 1 year of experience or 5 years operating/managing community environmental management systems
  • Effective communication skills in both written and verbal formats
  • Project management and self-directed time management
  • Understanding of financial statements and budgeting
  • Attention to detail and deliver high accuracy in work products
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
