Job Description

Overview

Micron is looking for a skilled Waste Treatment Engineering Designer to oversee the design of waste treatment systems for semiconductor manufacturing projects. This role involves managing third-party design firms to ensure compliance with project specifications and environmental regulations while delivering safe and efficient systems.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate design of waste treatment systems, including chemical neutralization, wastewater treatment, and solid waste handling.
  • Review and validate third-party design work for compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of design performance metrics, including treatment efficiency and discharge compliance.
  • Collaborate with external design teams, contractors, and internal stakeholders to align designs with facility requirements.
  • Perform quality assurance and risk assessments on third-party designs.
  • Ensure integration of waste treatment designs with other facility systems using BIM tools.
  • Implement safety and environmental protocols for hazardous waste management.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in waste treatment system design.
  • Knowledge of waste treatment processes and regulatory standards (EPA, RCRA, Clean Water Act).
  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering deliverables using AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks.
  • Experience with control systems (PLC, SCADA) and BIM tools.
  • Strong project management and collaboration skills.
