Overview

Micron is seeking a skilled Waste Treatment Design Engineer to oversee the design of waste treatment systems for semiconductor manufacturing projects. The role involves managing third-party design firms and ensuring that systems comply with stringent environmental regulations and safety standards, requiring strong project management skills and technical expertise in waste treatment processes.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate third-party design firms for developing waste treatment systems including chemical neutralization and wastewater treatment.
  • Review and validate third-party design work for compliance with project requirements and standards.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of designs to verify performance metrics and safety.
  • Collaborate with external design teams and internal collaborators to align designs with project timelines.
  • Perform quality assurance and risk assessments on designs related to regulatory compliance and environmental impact.
  • Ensure designs integrate seamlessly with existing facility systems using BIM tools.
  • Implement safety and environmental protocols ensuring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and local laws.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or chemical engineering or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in design processes for waste treatment systems
  • Strong knowledge of waste treatment system design
  • Familiarity with industry standards including EPA regulations
  • Proficiency in reviewing engineering deliverables using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks
  • Experience with control systems (e.g., PLC, SCADA) and BIM workflows
