Overview

Micron is looking for a Waste Systems Design Engineer to oversee the design of waste treatment systems for semiconductor manufacturing projects. This role involves managing the work of third-party design firms, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and project specifications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate third-party design firms in developing waste treatment systems.
  • Review and validate design work to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of designs to verify performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with external teams, contractors, and internal departments to align project goals.
  • Perform quality assurance and risk assessments on designs.
  • Ensure designs integrate with other facility systems using BIM tools.
  • Implement safety and environmental protocols for waste management.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, chemical engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in waste treatment system design
  • Knowledge of regulations such as EPA's RCRA and Clean Water Act
  • Proficiency in engineering deliverables such as P&IDs and 3D models
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Familiarity with control systems like PLC and SCADA
  • Experience with BIM tools for design coordination
