Job Description

Overview

As a Warehouse Porter at Staples, you will join the World Class Supply Chain Team in Exeter, Rhode Island, working part-time on the first shift from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Thursday. Your responsibilities will include operating material handling equipment, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting in various warehouse functions to ensure efficient delivery of products to customers.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance duties within the facility
  • Confirm accuracy of product and address discrepancies and damages
  • Manually unload trucks and palletize products
  • Organize and stack customer orders and load trucks manually
  • Ensure adherence to safety procedures and maintain a safe workspace

Required skills

  • Minimum three months of related experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes weighing between 70 and 100 pounds
  • Basic English language skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
  • Material Handling Equipment Operator certification (or ability to obtain)
  • Prior experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is preferred
