Overview

The Warehouse Porter role at Staples involves responsibilities such as operating material handling equipment, performing general cleaning, and basic maintenance duties. This part-time position focuses on ensuring safety and efficient product handling within the warehouse environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties inside and outside the facility
  • Confirm accuracy of products and address discrepancies with colleagues
  • Manually unload trucks and palletize products
  • Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets
  • Ensure a safe and clean workspace while working
  • Be flexible to move into various warehouse roles as needed

Required skills

  • Certification to operate material handling equipment
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull boxes weighing between 70 to 100 pounds
  • Basic English language skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
  • Minimum three months related experience in a warehouse environment
  • Ability to pass a drug screen
  • Willingness to work in varying temperatures and stand/walk for prolonged periods
