Job Description

Overview

As a Warehouse Porter at Staples, you will operate material handling equipment and perform general cleaning and maintenance duties within the warehouse. This part-time role involves supporting various warehouse functions while adhering to safety procedures and maintaining a clean work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to move products within the warehouse
  • Perform general cleaning and maintenance duties inside and outside the facility
  • Confirm accuracy of received products and address discrepancies with colleagues
  • Handle the manual unloading of trucks and palletize products
  • Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets
  • Ensure safe work practices and comply with safety procedures
  • Assist in returning items and matching them to packing slips
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace in a fast-paced environment

Required skills

  • Ability to be Material Handling Equipment Operator certified
  • Basic English language skills (verbal and written)
  • Minimum three months of warehouse experience or equivalent training
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
  • Physical ability to lift, push, or pull boxes weighing between 70 and 100 pounds
  • Ability to work at heights up to 60 feet
  • Willingness to maintain a clean work area
