Job Description

Overview

As a Warehouse Porter at Staples, you will be part of the World Class Supply Chain Team in Columbia, Connecticut. Your role will include operating various material handling equipment, performing general cleaning and maintenance, and ensuring safety procedures are followed while transporting products within the warehouse.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and cherry pickers.
  • Perform general cleaning and basic maintenance duties inside and outside the facility.
  • Confirm accuracy of product and address discrepancies in receiving and returns.
  • Organize, stack, and shrink-wrap customer orders on pallets.
  • Maintain a safe and clean workspace.

Required skills

  • Minimum three months related warehouse experience.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
  • Basic English language skills for effective communication.
  • Ability to lift, push or pull boxes weighing between 70 to 100 pounds.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience with warehouse equipment is helpful.
