Overview

The Warehouse Packer at Tractor Supply Company is responsible for receiving store inventory, selecting merchandise for shipping, and loading items onto trailers. The role requires attention to safety, accuracy, and productivity while fulfilling tasks in a physically demanding environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Receive and unload incoming shipments and direct merchandise to the appropriate areas.
  • Check incoming merchandise against bills of lading and packing slips.
  • Take inventory of received goods and maintain accurate records.
  • Identify, label, and palletize merchandise for storage and shipments.
  • Pick and prepare store supply and UPS orders for shipment.
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate inventory discrepancies.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area according to safety standards.

Required skills

  • 0-2 years of experience in a distribution center
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to lift 50 to 75 pounds continuously
  • Basic understanding of English
  • Basic math skills and ability to count accurately
  • Knowledge of operating RF terminals, bar code scanners, and forklifts
  • Strong communication skills
