Job Description

Overview

The Warehouse Manager II at EarthScope Consortium is responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and implementation of warehouse operations and logistics, including customs compliance, shipping, and inventory control. This role involves managing a team, ensuring efficient inventory management, and maintaining safety standards within the warehouse. This position will initially be based in Socorro, NM, with a transition to Albuquerque, NM planned for Fall 2026.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee warehouse operations, including logistics, shipping, and inventory management
  • Ensure customs compliance for import/export activities and develop relevant procedures
  • Manage and optimize global equipment movements and prompt delivery of shipments
  • Supervise Warehouse Coordinator and part-time student staff in warehouse tasks
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for warehouse and compliance activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline logistics and transportation strategies
  • Conduct annual inventory audits and ensure government property tracking compliance
  • Maintain warehouse security, safety, and cleanliness

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or related field or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in warehouse and inventory management
  • 10+ years of experience in trade compliance and logistics
  • Expertise in U.S. Customs regulations and import/export compliance
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Proficiency in inventory tracking tools
  • Hazardous materials, OSHA, and Lift Truck Operator certification
  • Experience working with U.S. Customs and Border Protection
