Overview

The Vice President of Clinical Affairs (VPCA) at OhioHealth is responsible for directing and coordinating clinical activities for assigned care sites in collaboration with system service line Vice Presidents. This role involves overseeing clinical programming development, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards, and driving strategic growth initiatives across the healthcare organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive program growth and quality outcomes across OhioHealth.
  • Oversee and ensure quality and safety alignment with campus and system goals.
  • Deliver high-quality clinical programs aligned with Clinical Enterprise strategies.
  • Lead accreditation preparation and success.
  • Promote teamwork, collaboration, and accountability within the service line.
  • Foster a 'for all culture' among staff and the community.
  • Optimize clinical and operational processes.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Align physicians and administration with Clinical Enterprise goals.
  • Manage acute care operating plans, budgets, and strategies.
  • Build relationships with independent physicians for integration.
  • Set performance goals and oversee training for direct reports.

Required skills

  • Medical Doctor degree
  • 10 years post-graduate clinical experience
  • 7 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare management
  • Knowledge of healthcare quality assurance and regulatory compliance
  • Experience in program development and patient care coordination
  • Strong strategic planning and teamwork skills
  • Clinical leadership skills
