Overview

The Volunteer Services Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating the volunteer program at Catholic Hospice, focusing on both patient care and administrative support. This role involves mentorship, recruitment, training, and coordination with various departments to meet the organization's volunteer needs.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a recruitment plan for volunteers
  • Mentor and evaluate volunteer performance
  • Assist in interviewing and selecting volunteers for training
  • Maintain the volunteer training schedule including presentations
  • Ensure compliance in the on-boarding process
  • Assign volunteers based on organizational needs
  • Collaborate with other departments for fundraising activities
  • Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours and statistics
  • Supervise volunteers and provide ongoing training and development
  • Initiate community contacts for fundraising efforts
  • Acknowledge and respond to donors and sponsors

Required skills

  • High School Diploma, Associate's or Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of experience in volunteer management or supervisory roles
  • 1-2 years of experience in recruiting volunteers
  • Knowledge of non-profit organizations
  • Familiarity with office/clinical software
  • Strong communication skills in English
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
