Overview

Leidos is seeking a passionate Vietnamese Instructor to support a high-priority customer mission in McLean, Virginia. This full-time role involves teaching Vietnamese language across various proficiency levels and conducting language assessments, requiring strong experience in adult education and customized instruction.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide 3-5 hours of Vietnamese language instruction per day across proficiency levels ILR 0-3
  • Develop tailored instructional materials and training aids to meet student-specific learning objectives
  • Undergo training to become a certified language tester
  • Conduct 3-4 language proficiency assessments per week after certification
  • Teach language through cultural immersion, utilizing knowledge of language culture and current events
  • Collaborate with senior instructors to maintain instructional standards and curriculum quality

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree from a U.S. institution or from a country where the target language is spoken
  • Minimum of 3+ years of direct adult teaching experience, or 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with
  • Proficiency in developing customized instructional materials for adult learners
  • Familiarity with ILR Scale and current events in the foreign language
  • Must pass a translation test and an Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI)
  • TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
