Job Description

Overview

The Vice President of Compliance leads and oversees the Compliance Department for Pratum Companies, ensuring adherence to various affordable housing regulations and programs. This role involves managing compliance staff, providing training, and acting as a subject matter expert for both internal teams and regulatory agencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and mentor compliance managers and staff.
  • Provide training across compliance and other departments.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with clients, agencies, investors, and ownership entities.
  • Assist with planning and implementation of compliance measures for new acquisitions.
  • Participate in acquisition review calls providing HUD/LIHTC expertise.
  • Ensure compliance of household certification files with program requirements.
  • Coordinate and respond to internal and external audits.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly/annual reports for external agencies.
  • Manage HUD submissions and compliance audits.
  • Maintain knowledge of all compliance programs within the portfolio.
  • Provide superior customer service to residents and prospective tenants.

Required skills

  • Formal training/certification in related field (HCCP, SHCM, C3P, COS, CPO, BOS or equivalent).
  • A minimum of seven years of experience in compliance monitoring of HUD-assisted and LIHTC multifamily housing properties
  • Three years of experience in management roles, including team leadership.
  • Strong knowledge of LIHTC, HUD programs, IRS 8823 Guide, and HUD 4350.3 manual.
  • Advanced proficiency with Yardi and strong skills in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
