Overview

BMO Financial is seeking a Vice President Mortgage Specialist (VPMS) in Toronto, Ontario, to lead and inspire a team of Mortgage Specialists. The VPMS will be responsible for enhancing the Bank's presence in the marketplace, optimizing growth opportunities, and ensuring strong partner relationships while managing a talented team. This role combines extensive industry knowledge with strategic leadership to drive business results and foster talent development.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of Mortgage Specialists to deliver desired business results.
  • Establish and enhance the Bank's presence in the marketplace.
  • Develop and implement business plans and sales strategies to achieve objectives.
  • Act as a key representative for local community activities.
  • Address customer service issues and manage risk to minimize losses.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to leverage sales and improve customer acquisition.
  • Identify marketplace opportunities and develop strategic recommendations.
  • Engage with third party realtors and related sources to generate referrals.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and operational policies.
  • Lead change management programs and operational initiatives.

Required skills

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in mortgage and credit portfolio management
  • Expert knowledge of the real estate and mortgage lending processes
  • Strong project and time management skills
  • In-depth understanding of compliance requirements and regulations
