Overview

John Paul Mitchell Systems (JPMS) is a leader in the professional beauty industry, known for its innovative hair and skin care products. The Vice President of Human Resources (VPHR) plays a vital role in shaping the people strategy and culture at JPMS, serving as a strategic partner to the executive leadership team while focusing on attracting and developing talent across the organization.

Key responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, President, and Executive Leadership Team on people and cultural matters.
  • Translate business strategy into people priorities and ensure HR initiatives support growth and innovation.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team to deliver high-quality programs across various locations.
  • Champion the culture and values of JPMS across all employee touchpoints.
  • Drive talent acquisition strategy and oversee employer branding and candidate experience.
  • Design and execute performance management and succession planning processes.
  • Set total rewards philosophy and oversee compensation and benefits programs.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and oversee HR policies and practices.
  • Support international HR matters and maintain the company's culture across global operations.

Required skills

  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • 8+ years leading HR functions for multi-site organizations
  • Experience in talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards, and employee relations
  • Strong understanding of US and multi-state employment law
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to leverage AI for HR efficiency
