Overview

The Vice President of Human Resources at John Paul Mitchell Systems will serve as a strategic leader responsible for shaping and implementing HR programs aligned with the company's mission and values. Reporting directly to the President, this role requires collaboration with the executive team to attract, develop, and retain top talent while fostering a culture of engagement and compliance across global operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive leadership on people and culture matters
  • Translate business strategies into HR priorities and initiatives
  • Lead and develop the HR team to deliver high-quality programs
  • Champion the company culture and employee engagement initiatives
  • Oversee talent acquisition strategy and compliance with employment laws
  • Manage performance management, talent reviews, and succession planning
  • Set compensation and benefits programs to ensure competitiveness and equity
  • Co-lead employee relations efforts and ensure compliance with employment laws
  • Enhance HR systems and data analytics to support decision-making
  • Collaborate on international HR matters and maintain consistent culture across global operations

Required skills

  • 15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience
  • 8+ years leading HR in multi-site, multi-state organizations
  • Strategic HR leadership and team management skills
  • Deep expertise in talent acquisition, management, and total rewards
  • Strong understanding of US and international employment law
  • Exceptional communication and influencing skills
  • Analytical capabilities to inform executive decisions
  • Proficiency in HRIS and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Servant-leader mindset aligned with company values
