Overview

The Vice President, Finance - Central & South Region at Carle Health is responsible for overseeing all financial operations for the Central and South Regions, including various medical centers and special business units. This strategic leadership role focuses on improving overall financial performance, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with regulations in the healthcare sector.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the monitoring of the region's progress against annual operating budgets
  • Continuously analyze financial performance, operations, policies, systems, and procedures
  • Ensure efficient and effective regional performance while serving as a strategic thought leader
  • Provide support, direction, and advice to the regional leadership team
  • Investigate and maintain knowledge of applicable regulations and standards
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor an annual operating budget for the regions
  • Develop, prepare, and deliver regional board level reports and presentations
  • Lead improvements in revenue growth, expense reduction, and overall financial performance
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop effective strategies and plans for key service lines

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 10 years of experience in Healthcare Finance
  • 5 years of related leadership experience
  • Knowledge of Critical Access Hospitals and Rural Health Clinics
  • Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
  • Basic computer knowledge including word processing and spreadsheets
  • Proficiency in healthcare-specific tools like Epic and PowerBI
