Job Description

Overview

The Gund Company is seeking a full-time Utility Operator for first shift to support production operations in Cedar Lake, Indiana. The role involves operating various production machinery, conducting manual assembly tasks, and ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Operate production equipment such as panel saws and sanders
  • Perform manual assembly and fabrication tasks using hand tools and machines as required
  • Inspect products to ensure compliance with quality, quantity, and customer standards
  • Assist with troubleshooting and perform routine maintenance on production machinery as needed

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Strong basic math skills
  • Ability to use measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers)
  • Flexibility to work overtime and adapt to emergency production needs
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Familiarity with reading blueprints and technical drawings (preferred)
