The Utility Laborer position at E-Z Bel Construction in Austin, TX involves supporting construction crews with various tasks including excavation, trenching, concrete work, layout preparation, and material handling. This role requires operating hand tools and light equipment safely in outdoor conditions year-round, emphasizing physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols.

Key responsibilities

  • Support construction crews with excavation, trenching, and concrete work
  • Operate hand tools and small power equipment safely
  • Read tape measurements and identify dimensions for layout tasks
  • Maintain a clean and organized work zone
  • Perform traffic control and flagging duties as required
  • Report unsafe conditions and damaged tools
  • Assist with staging materials and spotting equipment

Required skills

  • 0-3 years of construction experience
  • Ability to read and use tape measures and layout tools
  • Familiarity with common construction tools and small power equipment
  • Understanding of safety practices and PPE use
  • Team-oriented mindset with ability to follow directions
  • Valid driver's license preferred
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly
